Our History

1923 – 1959

Alfredo Melandri and Luigi Deggiovanni, before agricultural machinery producers on behalf of third parties, started designing and producing two screws continuous presses and vertical hydraulic presses for grape pressing.
Then Costruzioni Meccaniche Deggiovanni & Melandri company was established.

1960-1969

The company extended its production of machinery for the wine-making field. The first Florsvin-Enotork unit for grape continuous pressing, “Velocipressa” and press for distillery were worked out. The products were sold to the main Italian wineries and abroad in the main foreign countries producing wine.
Costruzioni Enolmeccaniche DIEMME s.n.c. company was established from Deggiovanni & Melandri and moved to Lugo (RA), Via Bedazzo.

1970-1979

The new company lived a great growth in the wine-making field. The Florsvin Enotork 780 – 670 – 600 continuous lines range was extended and it met with the general approval. More equipment for wine-making process in the filtration, thermo-vinification, flotation and destemming field were worked out.
in 1973 an independent company Filtri Diemme SpA was established for manufacturing plate filter press for the wine-making field and civil/industrial purification.

1980-1989

In 1986 Costruzioni Enolmeccaniche DIEMME s.n.c. and Filtri Diemme SpA companies merged in only one company named DIEMME SpA and the logo, that will come with us till the 100th anniversay, was developped. Two independent branches of business were born, Winemaking Division and Filtration Division, which developed respectively their business with new technologies and markets.
The two Melandri brothers, Nino and Rino continue being the only shareholders and developing DIEMME SpA.

1990-1999

DIEMME SpA attained a great expansion in the two business areas. Filtration Division specializes in solid-liquid separation technologies and became one of the main worldwide actor in several industry sectors. Winemaking Division increased further its presence in all foreign markets with a diffused sales network composing of agents and dealers ensuring a full sales and service cover to all customers.

2000-2009

The growth of the two units Winemaking and Filtration Division continues after the establishment of sales offices in the main exporting markets, especially in France which represents the first exporting market to Winemaking Division and in Chile the DIEMME Enologia Chile SA branch is established. The continuous development of the sales and marketing activity is supported by the activity of research&innovation by working side by side with National and European Research Institutes. 

2010-2019

In 2011 the branch of business Filtration Division is given in DIEMME Filtration Srl and a share parcel is sold to Passavant Geiger, a company of the group BILFINGER BERGER. DIEMME SpA changes its company name in DIEMME Enologia SpA.
Melandri family continues with DIEMME Enologia developing its path in the winemaking field and they establish DIEMME Soil Washing Srl, a new independent company for working out technologies and plants for polluted soils and sediments remediation.

The commitment and energy invested in research and process innovation have been recognized with various awards obtained by the most prestigious Italian and foreign competitions in winemaking sector.

Following its ecologic needs DIEMME Enologia makes itself autonomous by producing clean and ecologic energy with solar photovoltaic panels for the whole production site of Lugo.

2023

DIEMME Enologia celebrates 100 years of activity thanking the customers, the dealers, the agents and its employees for the trust and collaboration always appreciated.

Diemme Enologia is a company with a long tradition in the wine-making field, since the 1920’s indeed Diemme has started to develop the first equipment for grape pressing.
